About this Interview

Blenda J. Wilson became the first female leader of a University of Michigan campus. She began her role at the University of Michigan in 1988. Prior to her time at UM, she worked in academic and government institutions throughout the country, including Harvard University Graduate School of Education. In 1992, Wilson left the university to serve as President of California State University-Northridge, where she worked until 1999.
