In Part I of the interview, Amin tells his story of coming to Michigan in 1955, working in a Detroit-area automobile plant, and attending an English language program at the University of Michigan during the summer of 1955 before he travelled to Massachusets to attend Worchester Polytechnic Institute.
In Part II of the interview, Amin continues discussing his education in Michigan and Massachusets before attending graduate school in Illinois. He discusses his decision to become a civil engineer and his initial plan to return to Iran after completeing his studies. Though he visited Iran, he never lived or worked in Iran. He retired and lives in Illinois.
