Farideh Freedom Hosseini
About this Interview
Farideh Freedom Hosseini was born in Shiraz, Iran. She attended medical school in Shiraz before coming to the United States to complete her residency at a psychiatric hospital in Kansas City, Missouri. Afterward, Hosseini came to Michigan to complete her sub-specialty residency at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. She talks about her upbringing and education in Iran and the United States. Hosseini also talks about her desire to stay connected to her culture while living abroad, leading her to attend Persian poetry readings and join Persia House of Michigan.
