About this Interview

At the time of this interview, Sally Howell was an Associate Professor of History and Arab American Studies and director of the Center for Arab American Studies at the University of Michigan-Dearborn. She was interviewed by History 300 The Study of History student, Jack Stevenson, via Zoom on October 19th, 2021. She describes her experiences immersing herself in Arab culture in the Middle East while traveling through Palestine, Yemen, Jordan, and other areas. She also talks about life in Dearborn, Michigan, and how her experiences have shaped her career and scholarly work.
